Freedom from the Fear of Failure

Firstly, as an Aspiring #Aluxer, I Am Not A Champion of Failure. Like You, I Love to Win, Maintain Advantages, Remain Competitive and Constantly Seek New Ways to Improve. Losing, Quitting, Throwing In the Towel and Similar Derivatives are Not in My Active Vocabulary, but the Invaluable Education I have Received from the Many, Plenty Failures I have Experienced have proven to be Treasures which have Molded and Forged Me into the Man I Am, On the Path I Am. I would Not Trade Any One of Them. For Each Failure was just as Valuable as Every Win I've Attained.

Here Are The Lessons I Have Learned :

  1.  Failure Is Not Your Identity, It is a Single Event. Failure Does Not Define You (Unless You Allow It To). YOU Are Not A Failure, You Screwed Up. No Healthy Parent Would Scold or Berate His/Her Toddler who is Learning to Walk and invariably falls, sometimes harder than anticipated. That Parent Lovingly Encourages the Child to Keep Trying, Kissing the "boo boo" as necessary, but always standing the little one back onto its feet and coaxing another go at it until the youngster, masters their balance and moves ahead to Running!

  2. Failure is Not the Destination, It is a Bend in the Road. Perhaps You Missed (Or Ignored) the Warning Signs. Perhaps You Did Not Plan Accordingly. Perhaps the Mishap was a Team Effort - Or Perhaps It Wasn't YOUR Fault. Life Happens, You Know. You Can Give Up & Give In or You Can Get Up And Go For It! Carefully Evaluate What Happened. Document It. What Did You See? What Did You Hear? What Was Your Responsibility? When Did You Notice The Train Veering Off the Rails? Were You Traveling Too Fast? Too Slow? Growing Too Quickly or Too Slowly? What Can You Do Differently and Most Importantly, Why Not? Why Not NOW? Once You've Carefully Calculated the Missteps that led to this Unfortunate Bend, Course Correct and Rebuild. It Doesn't Have to End Here! Clean Up The Mess and Get Back On Track!

  3.  Failure is Not to be Feared, It Is to Be Anticipated. Working in the Spirit of Excellence is Honorable. Expecting Perfection is Super Stupid! (I Tried to Find an appropriate Euphemisim...) In Many Respects, Failure Means You're Growing! You're Improving! You're Learning! You're Risking, Exploring, Experimenting, Disrupting the Status Quo and Thinking Innovatively! You're Bound to Hit Your Head, Bruise Your Knee, Break a Rib or Worse! As Long As You're Determined to Arrive at Your Goal, Laugh & Limp Along! The Insults, Bullets, Fiery Darts, Haters and Nay-Sayers are going to Have Their Say and Do Damage. Many of them have Achieved Far Less and are Far More are Envious that You have had the Courage to Build and Do the Work. They Don't Even Deserve a Response. Get Your Goober Back Up and Get Back on The Horse. Like Edison, You May Have to Go Through 10,000 Failures to Score the Big Goal! Get Up!

If You Are a Forward Thinking Leader, Give Your Team Permission to Fail. So Many Want to Instill a Fear of Failure in Our Partners, Mates & Community in such degrees that Progress is Stifled, because No One Wants to Take The Chance. Anything & Everything Worth Creating or Having is worth the frank Fearlessness to Pursue It Through Hell or Deep Waters. Failure is Part of The Process. Walk Up To It. Walk Around It. Look It In The Eyes and Prepare to Fight. You May Lose a Few Rounds, But The Belt, The Title and All of the Rewards Belongs to You!
